Game 19 of the Brisbane Premier League saw Harry Wood and the Western Power take on Andrew Gode and the Northern Kings. It was the Power who won the toss and chose to bat.
Michael Sippel and Jake Cross got the Power off to a solid start, scoring 21 and 15 respectively. Jack O’Neill and Gopy Ramgharia went to work for the Kings, removing the top five for the Power, reducing them to 5-67. But it was Dylan McLaughlan and Harry Austin who provided resistance for the Power, scoring 31 and 32 each at better than a run a ball.
The Western Power saw out their 20 overs, getting to 8-135.
Josh Brown smashed his way into the record books last week with a mammoth 108 runs from 55 balls. Brown continued his incredible run of form against the Power, belting 74 runs not out off 35 balls at a strike rate of 211.
Donal Whyte continued his solid form with the ball for the Power, removing Jack Cooper for 29 off 17 balls. Scott Palombo strode to the crease to ensure easy work of the run chase, scoring 28 runs without dismissal from 19 balls.
The Northern Kings went on to win by 9 wickets with 43 balls to spare, claiming a bonus point along the way!
